The National Union of Professional Event Animators and Presenters of Côte d’Ivoire (UNAPEP-CI) now wants to advocate excellence in this sector of activity. It is this reason which motivated this structure to establish a national competition at the corporation level called the Night of Professional Animators (NACI). This competition will reveal and distinguish the best members at the national level. This event, which is crucial for the life of the organization, will put its members into competition and the best of the winners will receive the RFK super prize (Roger Fulgence Kassy) named after the former TV presenter, star of RTI in the 70s and 80s died on January 20, 1989, now a reference in the animator profession.

12 sectoral prizes will allow other winners to be recognized. The President of UNAPEP-CI Mr. Kéita Yeleen and Mr. Freddy Murphy, the General Commissioner of the Night of Professional Animators (NACI) co-hosted a press conference on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at the Press House of Abidjan, Plateau to announce this important event whose official launch will take place on June 15. These exchanges with the press allowed the President of the umbrella group of radio, TV and professional event presenters to look back on the genesis of this organization. He indicated that it was on March 23, 2022 during a Constitutive General Assembly which saw his election at the head of this structure which today brings together 802 members and 35 delegations across Côte d’Ivoire. and European countries. This organization aimed to clean up the environment in order to restore the image of the corporation tarnished by non-professionals and to work for the well-being of the actors by allowing them to make a living from their profession. According to him, achieving these objectives must be achieved through the training of its members as well as the promotion of excellence by establishing the RFK Super Prize which will distinguish the best radio, TV and professional event presenter in Côte d’Ivoire. “The lack of organization, structuring, and solidarity has not done our corporation any favors. It was a profession that was not respected in our country,” explained Mr. Kéita.

As for the Commissioner General of the NACI, he set out criteria for participation in this competition. Emphasizing that you must be a member of the organizing structure, have your professional facilitator card issued by the Ministry of Communication (CIJP Editor’s note), be up to date with your contributions, are among others, the criteria for applying. To participate in the competition, the candidate must provide their audio and video productions.
