This Thursday, May 9, Yves Calvi received Renaissance MEP Bernard Guetta on RTL. The former journalist turned politician is the brother of famous DJ David Guetta. “I am as foreign to his music as he is to my columns”had explained to Vanity Fair in 2017 Bernard Guetta while he was still working as a geopolitics specialist on France Inter. “We are day and night”, David Guetta confided during this cross-interview. The DJ even seemed to have taken revenge. “When I was little, he was Bernard, the star of the family. We listened to him rave about Lech Walesa and perestroika”, the Night King remembered. Sixteen years separate these two brothers whom everything seems to be opposed to at first sight. A situation which inspired Philippe Caverivière for his column which he did just after the political interview with Bernard Guetta.
The resemblance between the musician and the comedian who also officiates in What an era! on France 2 alongside Léa Salamé was on the menu of “2nd eye of Philippe Caverivière”. “Many in the editorial team thought that Bernard and I knew each other. “They confuse me with David Guetta”, continued the RTL comedian. Before giving a hilarious example: “I happened to be confused during a cultural trip to Las Vegas and since then David has been called ‘little sgeg’ and I apologize for that.” He described himself as “a species of David Guetta ‘Foir’ Fouille’, Mark Repère or Leader Price”. “It happened to me on many occasions that I was taken for your half-brother“he explained to Bernard Guetta. “David chose Ibiza, you Brussels”launched the comedian who made the MEP laugh a lot.
