Pro D2 – Update on the squad for the 29th day

Injuries, returns or even suspensions, we take stock of the numbers of the different clubs at the dawn of the 29th day of Pro D2.

Béziers

Returns confirmed for the Biterrois in strategic positions. Chico Fernandes, Charly Malié and Gabin Lorre will be available for the Nevers reception. Pierrick Gunther was still in treatment, while Taleta Tupuola is still struggling with his ankle. Both players could return for the final phase. Romain Uruty underwent successful cruciate ligament surgery and is beginning his convalescence. Yannick Arroyo (elbow), Gillian Benoy (ankle) and John-Henry Fincham (foot) have returned to training.

Nevers

Affected during the 25th day, the second row Maka Polutele and Chris Gabriel return for a match in which their physical density will be valuable. The heart of the three-quarter line is freshly decimated, with the absences of Rudy Derrieux, Léonard Paris, and Alivereti Loaloa. Consequence: Arthur Mathiron leaves the wing to return to his favorite position, alongside Mattéo Faucher, only lined up twice this season. Another major loss, that of Christian Ambadiang, on the wing, replaced by Thomas Zénon.

Grenoble

Hampered by an eye problem, scrum half Eric Escande was doubtful for the match, the final decision not having to be made until the end of the captain’s training, beyond our closing times. For the rest, in the absence of major injuries, it is a XV close to that of recent weeks which has been aligned by the staff, with the notable exception of full-back Julien Farnoux, replaced by the young Hugo Trouilloud . We will also highlight the presence on the bench of the colossus Giorgi Javakhia.

Colomiers

If Dimcheff’s season (ankle) is well and truly over, many returns to training have been recorded, with Larrieu, Djehi, Manukula, Saurs and Pinto. Even if not everyone will necessarily be 100% tonight. Granouillet and Laborde are requalified. Nu’u will have to wait again to serve his suspension. However, Dulon (sprained ankle) and Ponpon (sprained knee) are missing. Girard (shoulder dislocation) is awaiting additional examinations to find out if the ligaments are torn or not. His season is over.

Rouen

No new lesions or relapses following the Vannes match, which allowed the staff to line up all these warriors for this crucial match. Remaining away from the field, and who we will see again next year: Soulemane Camara (who recently extended), Ewan Clément and Mathieu Bonnot.

Soyaux-Angoulême

As happiness never comes alone, the maintenance of the SA XV has been accompanied in recent days by an increasingly empty infirmary. It’s quite simple, the Charente staff have never had so many choices to make their compositions since the start of the season. Ian Kitwanga returns after missing the last block, as does Matt Beukeboom, injured since the beginning of March. Right pillar Michael Kumbirai, who only played the opening match of the season in Béziers, is a substitute. Omar Dahir, William Greatbanks, Léo Morand-Bruyat, Corentin Glénat, Mathis Lafon and Maxime Laforgue remain unavailable.

Dax

For this last match of the regular season at home, the staff has chosen to line up the players who will leave the club at the end of this season. The young pillar Raphaël Laboille returns to the bench. Second row Josh Furno suffered a minor elbow injury and versatile Fijian third row Ratu Nacika complained of a knee injury. They are both resting alongside the other members of the group. Center Théo Dachary (ill) and hooker Elvis Levi are unavailable.

Agen

Several players have finished their season. This is the case of Zak Farrance (knee), Harry Sloan (knee), Théo Idjellidaine (ankle), Clément Garrigues (ankle) and Kolinio Ramoka (knee). The latter is gradually returning to training but should not return to the pitch this season. Several players are also preserved for the last match of the season against Vannes, at home. Corentin Vernet and Tevita Railevu are returning to the group, however.

Montauban

Alexis Bernadet suffers from a torn calf and therefore remains away from the field this time just like Semesa Rokoduguni. Very uncertain for this meeting and after several tests, the staff preferred to preserve the winger. Thomas Bué, injured in the hip, may no longer set foot on the pitch this season. As for Thomas Fortunel, who is in difficulty with his shoulder, he is in the recovery phase. Note that Josua Vici’s season is over, suspended for seven weeks by the NRL following a red card against Colomiers.

Mont-de-Marsan

Max Curie, Aston Fortuin, Christophe Loustalot and Yoann Laousse-Azpiazu are long out of the race until the end of the season. Nicolas Garrault and Willie Du Plessis have returned to training but are not operational, Andreï Ostrikov is suspended for four weeks and, last bit of bad news, Patricio Fernandez felt a pinch in his quadriceps during training and will not be able to apply . Pierre Sayerse, scheduled for the starting XV, remained uncertain in the middle of the week. The staff decided to form a bench with six forwards.

Valencia-Novels

For the reception of Aurillac, the powerful Fijian center Ben Neiceru will be unavailable, injured in the ankle. British fullback George Worth will also be missing with a foot injury. Among the forwards, second row Florian Goumat had shoulder surgery and therefore finished his season. Right pillar Kévin Goze (neck) and third row Loan Real (pectoral) are still out. Note the returns to the group of right pillar Christopher Talakai and second row Yassine Maamry.

Aurillac

Giorgi Kartvelishvili was back in training this week, too short for the competition. Martial Rolland is also over his ankle problems and should be fit for this weekend, as is Mosa’ati Moala. What is less certain is for second row Eoghan Masterson who experienced neck pain. As usual, the Stade Aurillacois should be busy for this trip with a great first for the Georgian hopeful pillar, Shengelia Nodari, who arrived this winter.

Biarritz

McClintock (ruptured anterior cruciate knee ligament), Morgan (ankle ligaments), Millar (operated for pubalgia), Jonas (ankle), Soury (internal lateral ligament) and Fariscot (thigh) finished the season. Ma’afu, victim of a tear, will not play again this season either. Aliouat (pectoral), Lonca (shoulder), Sauveterre (concussion) are still absent. Petch, Hébert and O’Callaghan have returned to training smoothly, but they will not yet be ready for the match against Provence Rugby. Vergnaud is nearing the end of his concussion protocol. It is selectable.

Provence Rugby

Fullback Mathias Colombet is back in the squad for this trip to the Basque Country. Just like the second row Joshua Tyrell who also returns at the start of the final sprint. On the other hand, for winger Nadir Bouhedjeur, he has resumed training but will have to wait a little longer before resuming competition. For Thomas Salles, he continues his recovery and could return in June if all goes well.
