Every year, the City of Saint-Lazare offers its residents the chance to obtain free tree shoots, compost (fruit of their efforts to recover food waste), bulk mulch (fruit of the collection of branches ), seeds and small plants.

This year, this activity will be held on Friday, May 17 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Saint-Robert Park located on the hill of the same name.

During this day, residents will also be able to get their fill of information and sound advice from various speakers present at the information kiosks, particularly on trees and water.

Will be distributed:

– Compost;

– Mulch;

– Milkweed seeds;

– Tree shoots;

– Seeds and small plants;

Instructions:

Residents will need to bring:

– Their Access Saint-Lazare card;

– Their containers (bins, trash cans) for mulch and compost;

– Their shovel to take compost and mulch;

– Bags or newspaper for tree seedlings.

Did you know?

The compost distributed is the result of citizens’ sorting efforts and participation in the collection of brown bins.

On-site competition

A questionnaire to test the knowledge of participants for this day will be offered on site. The questions will focus on water and sustainable development practices. The answers can be found on the drop-down banners located at the various kiosks on site.

Two draws will take place among people who have completed their participation form. The winners will each receive a book.
