A road trip leaves two injured on the Franco-Swiss border, a 30-year-old woman airlifted in serious condition

The accident took place this Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Col France, in Villers-le-Lac (Doubs) a stone’s throw from the border with Switzerland. Only one car was involved. Seriously injured, the 30-year-old passenger was evacuated by helicopter to Besançon University Hospital. The 32-year-old driver suffered minor injuries.

The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. this Thursday, May 9, 2024 at a place called Le Col France on the RD461 in Villers-le-Lac (Doubs), just before the customs post which leads to Le Locle in Switzerland. Only one car was involved.

Two people were injured when they left the road. The passenger, aged 30, was seriously injured and found herself trapped in the vehicle. She was extricated and urgently evacuated to the Jean-Minjoz CHRU in Besançon by HÉLI 25, the SAMU helicopter.

The driver, aged 32, was slightly injured. He was transported to the Center Hospitalier Intercommunal de Haute-Comté (CHIHC) in Pontarlier.

The intervention mobilized around ten firefighters from the emergency centers of Villers-le-Lac, Morteau and Gilley. Gendarmes and customs officers were also present on the scene.
