In the early morning of Thursday, May 9, a man in his thirties was fatally struck by a van while he was stopped on Highway 15, near the Gédéon-Ouimet bridge, to change a tire. .

It was 5:15 a.m. when the victim suffered a flat tire while traveling on Highway 15 and taking the Gédéon-Ouimet bridge spanning the Mille-Îles River between Laval and Boisbriand.

The man stopped his vehicle on the roadway and got out to replace the damaged tire.

It was at this moment that a person driving a van allegedly did not see him and hit him head-on before fleeing the scene.

As soon as they arrived on the scene, patrol officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) saw the inanimate body and unfortunately noted the death of the victim on site.

While witnesses will be met in the coming hours by SQ investigators, particularly in order to locate the van and its driver, specialists in collision reconstruction are at work to shed light on the causes and circumstances. of this fatal accident.
