“We benefited from our first experience,” assures Catherine Marchesin, assistant for participatory democracy. Last year, during our first registration in the Citizens’ Day process, it turned out, in fact, that only the project based on the APE of the Harel-de-la-Noë school had worked. So we asked trained groups to come up with ideas. Always with the idea of carrying out collective work of public utility.”

Construction sites and workshops

Three projects were therefore selected: reorganizing the libraries of Harel-de-la-Noé (building mobile shelves, reconfiguring the benches); renovate the sensory area of the Corsaires leisure center (renovate the course, overhaul the insect hotel, set up a greenhouse and carry out plantings); and participate in a bicycle repair workshop at the Port-Horel school.

But also two workshops: manufacturing of homemade household products (liquid laundry detergent and scouring cream from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.; laundry powder and room mist, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.); cooking workshop for preparations for the closing buffet.

“Getting involved in the life of the city”

“Participating in Citizens’ Day means getting involved in the life of your city. But also doing things together, creating a bond. This is an opportunity to call on your acquaintances, your neighbors. Then, if we wish, get together during the shared closing meal, where everyone contributes their share,” recalls Catherine Marchesin.

Practical

Registration recommended for construction sites, and obligatory for workshops (before May 15), by email to [email protected], or by online form at https://www.ville-plerin.fr/citoyennete /participative democracy
