It is a drama whose thread of events still remains to be unraveled. On the night of Monday 6 to Tuesday 7 May 2024, a 26-year-old intern was found unresponsive in an on-call room at the Pierre-Paul-Riquet hospital, in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), report France 3 And France Bleu Occitanie .
The victim had barely returned to Toulouse
This intern had just returned to Toulouse after spending two semesters of internship in hospitals in the region. According to local radio, the latter was on duty in anesthesia-resuscitation the night of the tragedy. He would have left the block to return to his on-call room around 2 a.m.
The next day, the hospital management confirmed in a press release relayed by France Blue the death of the young man. On the other hand, nothing explains his death. It was already too late when the intern was discovered.
An investigation was opened by the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office to understand the circumstances of his death. An autopsy should also take place soon.
