Atalanta-OM, pre-match

Marseille will play for their place in the Europa League final this Thursday evening. A week after being held in check at the Vélodrome stadium, the Marseille club travels to Bergamo to meet Atalanta, as part of a semi-final return which promises to be as tense as it is indecisive. No more history of goals scored away from home, so anything is possible for Jean-Louis Gasset’s men who will still have a lot to do on Italian soil.

However, the Marseille coach must make his decision, particularly concerning his defensive system. He will be able to be satisfied with recovering several important players, including Samuel Gigot who was suspended and absent on the first leg. Quentin Merlin is fit to play and could start the match. It remains to be seen what the OM players still have in their guts and in their engine, at the end of a season where fatigue is often felt.

Atalanta-OM, the probable lineups

Atalanta should present themselves in a 3-4-1-2 formation with the attacking duo De Ketelaere-Scmacca, while former Chelsea player Zappacosta will take his place on the right side of midfield. Opposite, OM will opt for a 3-5-2 with Mbemba, Gigot and Balerdi at the back, while Clauss and Merlin will evolve in their role as pistons. Up front, Sarr should be associated with Aubameyang.

Atalanta: Musso – Scalvini, Djimsiti, Hien – Zappacosta, De Roon, Ederson, Ruggeri – Koopmeiners – De Ketelaere, Scamacca

OM: Lopez – Mbemba, Gigot, Balerdi – Clauss, Kondogbia, Veretout, Harit, Merlin – Sarr, Aubameyang
