The President of the Republic ordered a “substantial” increase in the amount of the tourist allowance, as well as the hajj allowance and the student scholarship.
The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers yesterday, “welcomed the financial model of the finance bill (PLF) for the year 2025, which does not provide for any increase in taxes affecting the daily life of the citizen,” said a press release from the Presidency of the Republic. He also ordered the establishment of the National Agency for Major Balances and Foresight for “careful” monitoring of sub-budgets and sectoral budgets with a view to establishing “transparency”.
The Head of State also ordered that the finance bill for 2025 be in line with the major projects for which he had committed to the Algerians, including the 2 million housing project, the projects in the sector of energy and mines and the project to create 450,000 new jobs. President Tebboune also ordered the increase in the amount of the tourist allowance, the hajj allowance and the student scholarship.
He ordered a “substantial” increase in the amount of the tourist allowance granted once a year for the benefit of citizens traveling abroad, as well as the hajj allowance and the student scholarship, within the country and abroad. He also called for the imposition of “maximum” sanctions and the immediate removal from the commercial register of sellers of automotive lubricants who increase their prices “without justification”. The same goes for local products, such as apples, which are marketed, according to him, at prices of imported fruits. President Tebboune insisted on the State’s pursuit of development at an “increasing” pace, particularly the promotion of production and investments as an economic engine.
“Rigorous” monitoring of the health situation
Regarding the presentation on the health situation relating to the epidemic of diphtheria and malaria in the border regions of the south of the country, he ordered “rigorous” monitoring of the health situation in localities which continue to record case. Regarding the progress report on progress in digitalization, the President called for taking into consideration the issue of cybersecurity and being vigilant in the acquisition of equipment and materials.
In this context, he asked the government to take all “necessary” measures, in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense, including the recruitment of all Algerian personnel and skills, particularly in universities, noting that “the project digitalization is one of the foundations of victorious Algeria.
Regarding the progress of structuring mining projects, the Head of State called for the selection of appropriate locations for the processing units, bringing them closer to water points, electricity and lines railways. He stressed the need to implement these projects “as quickly as possible” until they are put into service, in compliance with all decisions previously taken, “given their weight and their very positive impact on the economy national”.
Regarding the conditions and procedures for approval of private education and teaching establishments, he noted that the programs of private schools must be compatible with the national education program. In this context, he called for the establishment of performance contracts to “determine the added value of private schools and the level of success, with the approval of regular monitoring”. He demanded the review of licensing conditions, particularly those relating to national sovereignty, and encourage investment in private education.
