Renault 5 Electric: we know almost all the prices!

On May 15, 2024, Renault unveiled a new price range for its highly anticipated Renault 5 E-Tech electric. If the first marketed versions of the electric city car had prices around 35,000 euros, the brand has taken a step forward to democratize access to its flagship model. With the arrival of more affordable models, notably the long-awaited version at 25,000 euros, the R5 could well become the benchmark for electric city cars in Europe.

Renault 5 (R5) electric: less battery for a very low price

Initially, the first versions of the Renault 5 Electric focused on the most equipped versions, with high prices. However, Renault has announced a new series of models at more accessible prices, made possible by the introduction of a smaller battery. These new prices now offer buyers a real alternative in the electric city car market. For example, the “Techno” model with 40 kWh battery is priced from 29,990 euros, while the high-end “Iconic Cinq” model is priced at 31,990 euros with the same battery capacity. A reduction which allows the R5 to better compete with models such as the Peugeot e-208 and the Citroën ë-C3.

For those looking for an even more accessible option, Renault has introduced the “Evolution” finish, which will be available at 27,990 euros with a 40 kWh battery, which brings the price down to 23,990 euros once ecological bonuses are applied.

The long-awaited arrival of the electric R5 version at 25,000 euros

The entry-level version at 25,000 euros (excluding bonuses) will arrive in 2025. Named “Five”, this version will be equipped with a 95 hp motor and a 40 kWh battery, offering autonomy of 310 km. Although some equipment has been reduced, notably the absence of fast charging, this option remains a real asset for those who want a functional and affordable electric city car. For 2024, buyers can expect an R5 between 25,990 and 27,990 euros after deducting ecological bonuses.

R5 electric: varied performances and equipment

The Renault 5 Electric offers several engine and battery options. The most powerful versions feature a 150 hp engine with a 52 kWh battery, offering a range of 410 km. The more affordable versions, with a 40 kWh battery and a 120 hp motor, allow a range of 310 km. Performance is therefore adjusted according to the needs of drivers, but Renault has ensured that certain essential equipment, such as fast charging or V2G compatibility (allowing stored electricity to be resold), remain available on all versions.
