THE paving work on Serpenoise and Ladoucette streets will resume the week of May 13, announces the Eurométropole of Metz.

“In order to ensure that the ground materials meet the technical requirements in the long term, quality concrete paving stones will be laid on the parts of the road on which vehicles travel. At the foot of and around the vegetated islands, granite paving stones will be laid,” specifies the press release.

THE Full paving expected to be completed by September 2024.

Rue Serpenoise on Wednesday April 8, 2024.

At the beginning of February, a ceremony was organized with great fanfare to celebrate the laying the first paving stone of rue Serpenoise (photos are available by clicking here). However, around twenty days later, “non-conformities” were discovered during the first delivery, leading to thecessation of paving operations.

Work still continued at the level of the rue Ladoucette or one asphalt passage was just made at the end of last week.

The revised work schedule

The Metz Eurometropolis shared a new calendar Works via the Citykomi app. The program is as follows, subject to technical and weather hazards:

  • Rue Serpenoise (mid-May to early September 2024): installation of the final coverings and construction of the blocks, excluding the section located in front of the ex-Printemps)
  • Rue Ladoucette (mid-May 2024): installation of the new road structure / (mid-May to early July 2024): installation of the final coverings
  • Ladoucette/Serpenoise intersection (mid-June to end of July 2024): installation of final coverings
