A heavy goods vehicle accident occurred on the A20 during the night from Wednesday to Thursday, near Saint-Maurice-la-Souterraine, in Creuse. If, according to initial information, the truck driver was only slightly injured, the accident led to the closure of the highway north of Haute-Vienne.
After an accident on Wednesday May 8 which led to significant disruptions on the A20 motorway, in the north of Haute-Vienne, near Razès, motorists will once again have to face cuts on the motorway, this Thursday May 9.
During the night from Wednesday to Thursday, a refrigerated truck overturned on the emergency lane, around midnight, near Saint-Maurice-la-Souterraine, on the small Creuse portion of the highway.
Several closing times
If the reasons for the accident remain to be determined, the consequences on traffic are clear. In Haute-Vienne, traffic on the motorway has been cut in the Toulouse-Paris direction since the accident, between the La Croisière (Creuse) and Arnac-la-Poste (Haute-Vienne) interchanges.
A closure which could well last a few more hours, time to unload the cargo from the truck and raise it to remove it from the tracks.
A diversion has been set up from interchange 23.b, national road 145, as well as by departmental roads 220 and 212. Motorists can then join the motorway at Arnac-la-Poste (interchange 22).
