The interior wall of a house collapsed in Toulouse during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Seven occupants were evacuated. An entire building collapsed on March 9 in another neighborhood.
A restless night in Toulouse for the residents of a house in the Côte-Pavée district. Shortly after midnight, the interior wall of a one-story house collapsed at 2 rue Ferdinand Bebel. This house is adjoining two other buildings.
Firefighters immediately sheltered the occupants and established a security perimeter. The services of Toulouse town hall, ERDF and GRDF visited the site.
Seven people were evacuated and rehoused for the night and probably for several days.
The security perimeter is maintained until further notice. Six buildings are included in the security perimeter. Three of them accommodate the public. The impact on their professional activity is not yet known.
On March 9, an entire building in Toulouse, located in the city center at 4 rue Saint-Rome, collapsed during the night. The occupants had fortunately been evacuated four days earlier following the collapse of a section of wall. Shoring work had been undertaken without being able to prevent the building from collapsing. The owners took legal action against the Toulouse town hall, the building’s insurer and two design offices.
