Returning from 2 semesters of internship in hospitals in the region, the anesthesia and intensive care intern, in the 4th semester was on call in the emergency room. Around 2 a.m., he left the block to go to his guard room where he was discovered a few hours later.

Despite the immediate intervention of the shock relief teams to resuscitate him, the young professional died. The circumstances of his death remain unclear. According to some sources, the young man took drugs from the zombie. Facts refuted by the caregivers who discovered it.

Is it an overdose, with a desire to “shoot” oneself with too high a dosage, a suicide or a natural death? The causes of the intern’s death are not known at this time. An autopsy of the body must take place. An investigation has been opened.

Toulouse University Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine “would like to send their most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of this young intern.” The hospital staff also show their full support to the community of interns affected by this brutal death.

A listening and support system was immediately put in place for interns and more widely offered to all medical and paramedical professionals.
