DAlready a 1-0 winner over PSG in the first leg, Borussia Dortmund was invited to the Champions League final for the first time since 2013 by winning 0-1 at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday evening. On June 1 at Wembley, Borussen will face Real Madrid.

Author of an incredible final sprint, the Madrid club, led since Davies’ goal in the 68th, overthrew Bayern thanks to two goals from Joselu, the first in the 88th, the second three minutes later. After sharing the first leg (2-2), Bayern thought they had done the hardest part in the return leg in Madrid. But that was without counting on the overflowing desire of Vinicius and company…

The start of the match was to the advantage of a Real team which monopolized the ball. As for the first thrill, it came in the 12th minute of play. Neuer was saved by his post on a delivery as powerful as it was precise from Vinicius. Then the German keeper made a five-star save in front of Rodrygo. In fact, if the ball flew regularly from one rectangle to another, the actions were much more threatening when the locals put their noses to the window. Moreover, it was only shortly before the half-hour mark that the first Munich reaction worthy of the name came from the feet of Kane, whose long-range volley passed a few centimeters from the goal following a valuable intervention from Lunin. Before the break, Vinicius once again put himself in the spotlight with a threatening cross that only Neuer diverted. Despite a final long shot on target from Mazraoui, it was 0-0 at the break.

The quarter-hour break had obviously given the players ideas because, in two minutes, each team created a golden opportunity. In vain. Offensive intentions, high pace, Vinicius untenable… The intensity increased another notch afterwards. All that was missing were the goals! This was largely because of Neuer, the real Munich “wall”. But it was on the other side that a goal fell in the 68th. It was signed Davies. He received a ball from Kane before heading towards the promised zone then unleashing a powerful curling shot from the right which left poor Lunin no chance. At that moment, we could talk about a lesson in realism! Especially since Madrid’s equalizer, three minutes later, was canceled for a foul by Nacho on Kimmich.

Real Madrid only had a quarter of an hour left to go for at least extra time. A complicated mission facing a robust and well-organized block. On a long ball from Rüdiger, Vinicus was very close to 1-1, but his volley was ultimately off target. To the great dismay of a public who pushed their favorite players to give everything at the end of the match.

And it was Joselu who took advantage of a powerful strike from Vinicius released by Neuer to equalize in the 88th minute of play. Crazy! Then three minutes later, a cross from Rüdiger allowed Joselu, again, to overthrow a stunned Bayern team. At the end of the match, Bayern equalized, but the game was stopped just before. The goal was therefore cancelled. However, the referee should not have followed his assistant, who was at fault given the images he was unable to check. In fact, the attackers were not in an offside position! It will therefore be Real Madrid who will face Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley. A finish that already smells of powder…
