Turnaround in women’s D1. During the 22nd and final day of the regular season, this Wednesday, May 8, Stade de Reims edged to 4th place in the standings at FC Fleury, qualifying place for the semi-finals of the French championship.
The players of Amandine Miquel, received during the next BEPF promotion, created a surprise by beating PSG (2-1) thanks to achievements from Rofiat Imuran (15th) and Anaële Le Moguédec (27th) while Paris reduced the mark by Fanny Félicie Rossi (28th). A prestigious success but which can also be explained by the very large turnover within the Parisian team, winner of the Coupe de France against Fleury last weekend.
Fleury nevertheless believed in it
Fleury, in fact, is the big loser of this last day. Fabrice Abriel’s team lost at home against Montpellier (2-3). The Montpellier women first led 2-0 with goals from Nérillia Mondésir (4th) and Maëlle Lakrar (35th) before the Ile-de-France girls came back to the score at the start of the second period through Batcheba Louis (46th) and Léa Le Garrec ( 56th).
Fleury tried to push but the last word finally went to Montpellier who took a definitive advantage through Léa Khelifi (78th). In the ranking, Reims therefore finished with 35 points against 33 for the Floriacumoises. In the other matches of the day, Olympique Lyonnais, leader, suffered their first defeat of the season against Bordeaux (2-1), again with an extremely reshuffled team. Laure Bourguin scored twice for the Girondines (45th + 4, 85th) while Alice Marques scored for the Rhodaniennes.
