Concerns are mounting over the escalating environmental degradation in the area. The Ağıllar region, nestled within Famagusta’s Çanakkale area, is grappling with a severe environmental crisis, with pollution levels reaching alarming heights.

Each day, over 100 tankers indiscriminately discharge untreated sewage into open fields, exacerbating the situation. This unregulated dumping, coupled with the presence of stray dogs in nearby landfills, has led to a surge in fly populations, heightening the risk of disease transmission. Furthermore, the constant passage of heavy vehicles along access roads has severely deteriorated road conditions, presenting formidable obstacles for local livestock farmers. The haphazard disposal of deceased animals along roadsides further compounds health hazards for both animal and human populations.

The environmental degradation witnessed in the Ağıllar district of Famagusta demands immediate attention and decisive action to rectify the situation.
