Rich in its historical and cultural heritage, the City of Auch has been working for several years to develop the quality of its living environment and to promote its biodiversity. As such, she organizes “garden day”.
With this initiative, the municipality wishes to highlight these private spaces, living, natural, nourishing and flowery gardens – visible from the street or not – which contribute to the quality of the living environment of the Gers commune.

This “garden day” is based on the quality of layout and composition of the gardens presented. But this year, the emphasis is placed on respect for the environment, the sustainable and virtuous management of these private spaces, according to the specific constraints of the site. The use of suitable plants, water management, the absence of chemical inputs and pesticides as well as the implementation of alternative techniques or methods will be observed.
Under what conditions? Registration is open until May 15. The following categories can participate in this lighting of gardens: small spaces (balcony, pergolas, tree bases, etc.); gardens and pleasure gardens; nourishing gardens; collective achievements and buildings intended to welcome the public.
The jury will be made up of the mayor or deputy in charge of nature in the city, representatives of the Municipal Council, a representative of the tourist office, a representative of professionals, horticulture, a representative of the “Green Spaces” service which organizes the event.
