The Auberge du Pont de Collonges will open its doors to the general public for the first time on Monday May 20, for visits to the rooms and kitchens of the restaurant, but also for discussions with the establishment’s teams around the legacy of Paul Bocuse.
“Welcome to us, welcome to you.” On the occasion of the centenary of the Auberge du Pont in Collonges-au-Mont-d’Or, Paul Bocuse’s famous restaurant will open its doors to the general public for the first time during visits planned for Monday, May 20.
“Because Maison Bocuse belongs to the Lyonnais,” explains Vincent Le Roux, general manager of the restaurant, on the Auberge Paul Bocuse website. The establishment will offer a “free visit open to all to immerse yourself in the world of the chef of the century”.
“A privileged and unique moment”
The visits will last 1h30, in slots ranging from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the program: visit to the rooms and kitchens of the gourmet restaurant of “Monsieur Paul”, but also to the Collonges Abbey, a large reception room located at next to the inn.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend the Limonaire Symphony, the largest mechanical organ in Europe.
“A privileged and unique moment in this century-old house which continues to shine throughout the world,” promises the inn on its social networks.
Full reservations
Meetings with the restaurant teams to discuss the legacy of Paul Bocuse are also planned. The open days will close with a “gourmet welcome”, which will be offered to the public in the form of a snack.
After announcing this open day on its site this Monday, May 6, registrations took place at the beginning of the afternoon this Tuesday. The places, which are limited in number, however, sold out very quickly. On the hostel’s Facebook page, many expressed their disappointment at not having managed to register for the visit.
