And 37 year old man died in a boat accident last night in the Bay of Canebiers, 300 meters off Saint-Tropez. His body was found by fire brigade divers this Saturday morning.
The tragedy took place around 2h20. There were seven people on board, aged between 20 and 52. Three are seriously injured. A 35-year-old man was hospitalized in Fréjus, a 38-year-old woman in Gassin and a 52-year-old man in the Draguignan hospital center. Three others were slightly injured and placed under observation at the Gassin health center.
Collision with a mooring box
The seven people were aboard a zodiac 8 meters long in the Bay of Canebiers. They collided with a mooring box, this big orange buoy, a permanent anchorage, in the middle of the night.
Significant assistance was mobilized: 26 firefighters, two SNSM speedboats and a national navy helicopter. After initial searches in the middle of the night, they resumed around 7:30 this Saturday morning, until the body was found. Cross-Med supervised the operations.
