A man suspected of having set fire to his ex’s family’s three cars in Pas-de-Calais

A 22-year-old young man is suspected of having set fire to the three cars of a family living in Vendin-le-Vieil, near Lens (Pas-de-Calais), on the night of Sunday April 28 to Monday April 29 2024. The fire spread to the front of the house but was quickly extinguished by the firefighters. The suspect was arrested.

The three cars of a family who live in Vendin-le-Vieil, near Lens (Pas-de-Calais), were set on fire on the night of Sunday April 28 to Monday April 29, 2024. As reported News-Pas-de-Calais , a 22-year-old young man is suspected of having set fire to a first vehicle parked in front of the house. Then the flames spread to the two other cars parked nearby.

“We had to save ourselves”

The family was there when the fire broke out, shortly after midnight. “Everything happened very quickly, the fire spread to the facade in a few minutes. We had to escape through the back of the accommodation, we were really scared”tells the father of the family in the columns of The voice of the North . Alerted, firefighters quickly intervened to control the flames.

The owners of the house filed a complaint and an investigation was opened to determine the precise circumstances of the fire. Led by Lens police officers, investigations led to the arrest of a 22-year-old suspect from the North. According to News, he is the ex-partner of the daughter of the family. He will be summoned to court shortly.
