Ligue 1: the program for the 7th day, with Rennes-Monaco and Nice-PSG

After a magnificent week marked by European competitions, Ligue 1 resumes its rights this Friday evening! For this 7th day, big shocks await us: the runner-up Monaco travels to , and will try to inflict their second defeat of the week on PSG. Here is the program.

This European week was full of emotions. In the Champions League, two of our four French clubs involved in the competition shone: opened the ball on Tuesday by winning 4 goals to 0 on the pitch in Salzburg, and created a surprise this Wednesday by beating Real Madrid 1 goal at 0. More mixed result for Monaco, who still managed to snatch a draw (2-2) in Zagreb. Finally, it was a debacle for our Parisians, beaten by Arsenal 2 goals to 0…

First of all, a quick reminder of the current ranking at the dawn of this 7th day: still leader, PSG is however tied on points with Monaco (16 points), followed closely by (13), (11) and Lille (10). As for the red zone, , Saint-Étienne and are the three clubs currently relegated.

Monaco can take first place

After a rather satisfactory start to the European campaign – a victory against Barcelona and a draw against Dinamo Zagreb – the Monegasques also showed a very good face in the league. Still undefeated since the start of the season, Adi Hütter’s men travel this Saturday to face Stade Rennais, 10th in Ligue 1.

Favorite, at least on paper, the Principality club has a great opportunity looming before it: by pocketing a victory and the 3 precious points, AS Monaco will pass, at least for one evening, ahead of the Parisian leader. The Monegasque players will have to give everything to defeat the Bretons and seize first place, inexorably hoping for the defeat of Saint-Germain the next day.

To follow the clash between Rennes and Monaco, tune in this Saturday, October 5 at 9 p.m. on DAZN 1.

No room for error for Paris

After the disillusionment in the Champions League, Luis Enrique’s men must get back into the rhythm of the French championship. First and undefeated in Ligue 1, PSG travels to the Allianz Riviera to face OGC Nice. Ninth in the standings, the Niçois must remain in the top 10. Now under the orders of Franck Haise, the Aiglons have not started their season in the best possible way, currently counting a mixed record of 2 victories, 2 draws and 2 defeats.

Faced with a PSG who are fully motivated to maintain their pole position, Nice will therefore try to inflict their second defeat on the capital club, five days after their failed trip to London. Note that for this match, already crucial for both clubs, PSG should be able to count on the return of Ousmane Dembélé. Sanctioned this week by the Iberian tactician for ”disciplinary reasons” – essentially a delay at the training center – the French striker should be present in the group for this trip to the Côte d’Azur.

The match between OGC Nice and Paris Saint-Germain will be broadcast this Sunday October 6 at 8:45 p.m. on DAZN 1.
