Five people were injured in a violent accident that occurred Thursday May 2, 2024 in Vion (Sarthe). Around 8:30 p.m., a car and an unlicensed cart collided at an intersection, reports Free Maine. The smaller of the two vehicles, which normally only accommodates two occupants, was carrying an adult and three minors at the time of the collision.
A major rescue system was deployed on site, with the mobilization of twenty firefighters, specifies L’Écho Fléchois. They were called to the barracks of Malicorne-sur-Sarthe, Noyen-sur-Sarthe and Sablé-sur-Sarthe, as well as Morannes-sur-Sarthe-Daumeray (Maine-et-Loire).
Three young people in serious condition
The driver of the first vehicle, aged around sixty, was not transferred to hospital, unlike the four other injured people. A forty-year-old, who was behind the wheel of the cart, was slightly injured. The three minor passengers were treated in serious condition, although the prognosis is not life threatening.
