Aged 33, the man known to be the fattest in the United Kingdom died on April 27, 2024. The 30-year-old, who weighed almost 320 kg, succumbed after some of his organs stopped working, reports CNews relaying The Sun .

The condition of Jason Holton, who was preparing to celebrate his 34th birthday, having seriously deteriorated recently, firefighters intervened at his home to rush him to hospital.

Organ failure and obesity

“He was put on kidney dialysis and a drip, but his kidneys were no longer working”, explained his mother who remained at his bedside. Doctors told him that the young man would not survive more than a week. According to the medical examiner’s report, he died of organ failure and obesity.

Suffering from eating disorders since adolescence and the death of his father, Jason Holton was considered the fattest man in the United Kingdom since the death of another Briton in 2015 who weighed almost 410 kg.

He lived a recluse

Over the years, the man had begun to experience physical pain and became unable to walk. He lived secluded in his home and suffered from loneliness, eating kebab and fries for breakfast and eating around 10,000 calories a day, four times more than recommended, reports the Daily Mail .

Jason Holton notably made local headlines in 2020 after being lifted from his apartment using a crane to be transported to hospital. At the time, his organs were already failing.

“I thought the doctors would be able to save him again, but unfortunately it wasn’t possible”lamented his mother to the British media.
