Marine Le Pen, president of the National Rally group in the National Assembly, was a guest this Monday morning on RMC-BFMTV. She answered questions from Apoline de Malherbe and the listeners, particularly on her ability to win an election after three successive failures in the presidential election. But she doesn’t see a glass ceiling there.
The National Rally has never been so high in the polls, whether for the European elections or the 2027 presidential election. A few weeks before the European election, Jordan Bardella, candidate and president of the party, is leading all voting intentions. Still according to the polls, Marine Le Pen, president of the group in the National Assembly, is given the winner for the 2027 presidential election ahead of any candidate, including in the second round.
So the question arises. Who would be the best candidate for this election, Jordan Bardella or Marine Le Pen? The first and his youth or the second with the experience of three lost presidential elections and a name that sometimes weighs very heavily.
Guest on RMC and BFMTV this Monday morning, Marine Le Pen does not believe that her last name, which of course refers to that of her father Jean-Marie Le Pen, is an obstacle to her election.
“I do not believe that. If I believed that, I would no longer be a candidate,” she says.
“We have progressed over the course of the elections to arrive, at least in terms of voting intentions, at a level which allows us to win the presidential election,” she assures.
A president-prime minister duo?
Marine Le Pen claims to have discussed this issue at length with Jordan Bardella.
“We think that the duo that we form and that we present to the French, which potentially, it is in three years, we do not know what could happen, but potentially would see me as a presidential candidate and him as Prime Minister if I am elected, is a successful duo. It is this executive couple that we are offering to the French with the qualities that are mine, the qualities that are theirs,” she explains.
She took the opportunity to push RN voters to go to the polls on June 9 to vote for Jordan Bardella around whom, she said, “something is happening”, not wanting triumphalism before the European elections take place . “Nothing is done! If the people do not go to vote… Distrust.”
