Once again, Sainte-Gauburge-Sainte-Colombe (Orne) figures prominently in the “Fleurir la France” departmental competition.
In the “more than 1,000 inhabitants” category, the 2023 district prize was awarded to it during the reception organized on Wednesday at the departmental council in Alençon.
For the living environment
“This is a great encouragement for our municipality, which is redoubling its efforts to improve the quality of the living environment of residents and the reception of visitors, tourists and vacationers,” assures the mayor, Philippe Bigot.
Alongside what the community undertakes, the personal investment of many residents is essential and the reward obtained is also theirs.
He underlines “the need to put on our side the maximum of assets to beautify our environment, but also, in our daily actions, to contribute to its respect and preservation”.
Preparations are underway for next year
Already registered for the 2024 competition, the Valburg city will try to do as well as last year. The municipal technical services have initiated the first preparations.
“The choice of plants is underway, with probably some new ones. And we are hopeful that the weather conditions will not disrupt the season,” confides the mayor.
