Found wandering the streets of Washington State, United States, Luna the Husky made a grand entrance to the Adams County Pet Rescue shelter.
Obviously sociable and outgoing, the dog had probably already had a family, and the team hoped that possible owners would come and claim her. Unfortunately, no one came to collect the magnificent dog, who would have to wait to find a new home.
But after 10 days locked in her box, Luna lost her patience and started showing some original talents.
She is found on the roof of the shelter
Surprised, the shelter employees one day came face to face with the dog, perched on the roof of the shelter, perfectly at ease and seeming to scan the horizon in search of her owners.
The team quickly intervened to remove the dog from her observation point and brought her safely inside. Even if they were convinced that this brave dog would find a family one day or another, it was urgent to get this beautiful Husky out of this situation which was obviously not bearable for her.
Putting all their efforts to help Luna become the perfect companion, they set up dog training courses, which allowed the dog to better channel herself and have excellent understanding with her peers. But even though she was ready to find a family, no one seemed interested in her. A year after her arrival, she was still at the shelter.
Thanks to an adoption program in partnership with another shelter, Luna was however able to be put forward and was accepted into a temporary foster family, which would allow her to leave kennel life.
Since then, the dog has shown an ideal character: very calm, she is described as the “coolest” Huskie by her host family, and while waiting to find a permanent family, she can enjoy a real dog’s life .
