Two projects for intervention on the gas networks will begin in the Souilhac district of Tulle. The first, from Monday May 6 until June 7 and the second, from May 13 to 24. The work will take place at night and traffic will be modified.

The Souilhac district of Tulle will experience a somewhat disrupted month of May.
Firstly, Place Albert-Faucher will be partly handed over to the Aquaforage company. The work is expected to last a month from May 6 to June 7 and will encroach on around twenty parking spaces. It is also about securing the immediate surroundings of the site.
At the request of GRDF, the company will carry out, as its name suggests, so-called cathodic protection drilling. This operation aims to protect and extend the life of steel networks or pipes under high pressure. The technique consists of introducing electrical anodes into the wells thus drilled. These are connected to underground pipes and thanks to the injection of current, the technique makes it possible to fight against erosion. An information letter was distributed to all local residents.

Minimized nuisance

A little later, from May 13 to 24, work on the gas network will take place between the Souilhac roundabout and that of La Poste. GRDF will intervene to renew gas connections and install a DP station intended to lower the gas pressure in the pipes. It is mainly the gas supply to the Souilhac tower that will be affected.
Everything has been done to minimize nuisance: thus, the work will be carried out at night, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. During these hours, traffic will be diverted via rue Paufile: Souilhac roundabout towards the manu roundabout, turn right onto rue Paufile then Estabournie, at the end, turn right onto the Dunant bridge and find the avenue Victor-Hugo.
During the day, the workers will have blocked the pipes and traffic will operate more or less normally. The municipality decided that the main entrance to the city could not be cut off. Obviously, no parking will be possible between the Souilhac roundabout and the La Poste roundabout.

Gas leaks are numerous in the Souilhac district
