It is called “Trump Victory”, the victory of Trump, and for it, you have to pay 100,000 dollars, or 90,000 euros. TRUMP’s name is written on it. It’s a tourbillon watch, an ultra-complex mechanism and that’s not all… Donald Trump explains: “On this tourbillon watch, there are almost 200 grams of gold and more than 100 diamonds, that’s a lot of diamonds! I love gold and I love diamonds, like everyone else! There are only 147 examples of this extraordinary watch, buy yours now… Trump’s time has come!”
What is this watch really worth?
This is the question that watchmaking specialists immediately asked themselves and their answer, in the press or on social networks, is unanimous: no, it is not that extraordinary. First of all, who produces this watch? The company “thebestwatchesonearth”, “the bestwatchesdumonde”, whose headquarters is based in Wyoming, is unknown to the battalions. She claims to have her marvel manufactured – like all the models elsewhere – in Switzerland, but for the experts, there are signs which do not deceive, such as for example these small blue screws, an indication that the product is partly assembled in China.
Add to that basic information, such as the size of the case, which does not appear on the website among other amateurisms and you get a watch that is not worth 100,000 dollars at all, 15,000 at the most, some argue. Which is already enormous, but not 100,000. And again: we do not promise you that the watch you will receive will look exactly like the one you see on the site, it is just “an illustration”. In short: connoisseurs choke…
Who benefits from this money?
It’s not clear… We initially imagine that these watches are part of the official products of Donald Trump’s campaign and that the money will therefore go into his campaign coffers, well no… It’s well explained on the site, nothing political about it – it would be a coincidence of timing. But we say to ourselves that obviously, one way or another, the Republican candidate must gain something….
