The various emergency services now benefit from a single number in the event of a call from them.
Even if the supervision of cold calling calls is gradually tightening, it is normal to be suspicious when a long number tries to contact you. However, it may be the emergency services.
A unique number to enter in your repertoire
In a message on part 112, which is the global and European emergency number when you want to contact them from your smartphone or landline.
This concerns firefighters as well as the SAMU and the Gendarmerie: “If you receive a call from this number, pick up without fear,” explain the firefighters on social networks.
If, despite everything, you do not pick up, the service concerned will leave a message with the necessary instructions to facilitate the call back. However, the usual emergency numbers remain unchanged, including 17, 18 and therefore 112. Their principle is not changed either: you will be in contact with an operator who will redirect your call to the services concerned by your request or your emergency.

In order not to be surprised, it is therefore advisable to add this number to your smartphone directory under the name “Emergency Services”, so you will know that you can respond with complete confidence.
If you wish to contact emergencies, it is recommended to use 112 which allows you to contact emergency services, regardless of the European country where you find yourself.
