It’s fall: you have to (re)watch Gilmore Girls on Netflix

Gilmore Girlsit’s the official series for back to school and, above all, for fall. So we give you good reasons to discover or immerse yourself in the lives of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore.

The leaves take on orange, red and yellow tones as they litter the ground. We blow our noses, we sneeze, after forgetting our umbrella — it’s a tragedy. But, in the evening, we sit comfortably under a blanket, with subdued lighting and a hot chocolate. This grand ball celebrates one of the best seasons: fall.

For our cozy evenings in front of Netflix, what could be better than “the” official series of this season: Gilmore Girls. If you had forgotten its existence, count on us to remind you.

By the way, what is it? Gilmore Girls ?

Gilmore Girls is above all the intimate story of a mother, Lorelai Gilmore, and her daughter, Rory Gilmore. Lorelai was only 16 when she had Rory, which led to a complicated relationship with her parents. Other characters revolve around this iconic duo: Rory’s loves, of course, her classmates and friends, too, as well as the kind (but grumpy) Luke who runs the neighborhood café. The series is above all a story of intersecting lives, on the evolution of Lorelai, and of Rory – a literary woman with a big heart.

Stars Hollow, Fall Town

And Gilmore Girls is considered the fall series, primarily because of its cozy side. We are charmed by the love that emerges from this mother-daughter duo, in an atmosphere tinged with friendly and family stories. And then, it must be said the truth: if the problems accumulate with each episode, they are always resolved. All’s well that ends well. Gilmore Girls is far from a distressing series, on the contrary: it bathes us in tenderness. This is undoubtedly accentuated in our time by the fact that the series is set in the 2000s, an era without social networks and little shrouded in technology. The town of Stars Hollow seems out of time.

And precisely! Stars Hollow seems frozen in autumn. Spring and summer don’t really exist, in Gilmore Girls. In fact, as a character humorously points out during season 3, Stars Hollow is the only town where pumpkins can be found all year round. This is a characteristic of the series, and of its aesthetic.

To review and re-watch

If there is ever a time to discover Gilmore Girlsso it is now: early autumn, in October. But what also grows Gilmore Girls among the comfort series of this season, is that it is very easy to rewatch: we appreciate diving back into one season or another, sometimes even randomly.

Especially since Gilmore Girls dates back to the time when series extended over many seasons, with around twenty episodes per burst. And each episode has its own, “old-fashioned” story. In this case, Gilmore Girls has 7 seasons (and a spin-off set a few years later).
