The man who won the Oscar for best screenplay in 2011 for this film retracing the history of Facebook, is currently working on a sequel
He would now like to highlight the political responsibility of Facebook, particularly in the Assault on the Capitol in 2021 which led to riots
He believes that Facebook has played a role in the polarization of American society by voluntarily promoting the most divisive content possible, to increase user engagement.
We think of the content of the Qanon conspiracy movement in particular
Aaron Sorkin said: There’s supposed to be a consistent connection at Facebook between growth and integrity, but that’s not true. Only growth matters
Aaron Sorkin is therefore not finished with Mark Zuckerberg!
He had already mentioned the idea of a “sequel”, provided that David Fincher agreed to return as director
The latter declared in The Guardian that he had already spoken about the Project with Sorkin but had warned that broaching the Facebook subject again would open “a can of worms”.
