OL: misses this goalscorer who is a hit in Morocco – Olympique Lyonnais
Descriptive text here

Last winter, OL strengthened its offensive sector by securing the services of Gift Orban, Malick Fofana and Saïd Benrahma. The leaders also refused a Moroccan scorer.

In recent months, the leaders of Olympique Lyonnais have been busy strengthening the squad available to Pierre Sage. The month of January was lively with 60 million euros invested in seven players including three attackers. In the offensive sector, it was important for OL to provide competition to players like Cherki or Nuamah in order to best support the indispensable Lacazette. Benrahma and Fofana have everything good and have already shown their talent intermittently, which cannot yet be said of Gift Orban. Lacazette’s understudy, the former La Gantoise center forward has not yet had the opportunity to prove his worth. In January, OL spent 12 million euros to recruit him, proof of the Lyon board’s confidence in the talent of their new scorer.

In addition, sporting director David Friio preferred his profile to that of several other players who were offered to Les Gones. This is particularly the case of Mehdi Maouhoub, who has good stats in Moroccan D1 at Raja Casablanca and who was on the shelves of OL for a time according to insider @a_youssefa13. “ The young Raja striker, Mehdi Maouhoub, who passed through the FUS, could have signed in before his transfer to the Casablanca club but unfortunately the clubs in question (, Olympique Lyonnais, etc.) did not wish to go further. Only Antalyaspor had made a concrete offer but far from convincing” can we read on the insider’s X account. OL therefore expressed their interest in Maouhoub last summer and looked again at his situation in the winter transfer window, but did not position themselves to recruit him. This avenue will, however, be one to follow closely with a view to next summer for Olympique Lyonnais, which will still make numerous changes to its squad during the next transfer window.
