The death of Matisse on Saturday April 27, 2024 polarizes many debates: online hatred and violence among certain young people in particular. The teenager’s family faces inflammatory messages.

Since the death of Matisse, 15, in Châteauroux during a stabbing, messages of support have multiplied for the teenager’s loved ones. But his parents, who have since testified several times in the media, face a barrage of hatred online, playing on the drama they are going through.

As a reminder, a 15-year-old young man was indicted for murder and imprisoned Monday evening and an investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy.

“High point for the otter soup”

However, the presentation page of the family restaurant does not give the impression of a place where violence is welcome: “Fine dishes based on local products in a friendly room mixing old and modern, decorated with paintings.”

But among the messages posted in the reviews in recent days are violent comments directly referring to the teenager’s death. Notably this one, republished by Matisse’s father on his Facebook account: “Very disappointed with the welcome, I didn’t find any Afghan cuisine. However, I was told that their 15-year-old dishes were real killer. I won’t go back there, strong point for the otter soup however .”

A “monstrosity”

The message refers to the young man’s nickname, “My big otter”, which his parents still use to talk about him.

Christophe denounces a “monstrosity”. He received the support of more than 400 people on the social network: “How is it possible to write such horror”, “It adds hatred to this immense pain… How sad, I am outraged, revolted”, “Filing a complaint is the best solution”, “What a despicable act, it is totally unacceptable. Wickedness has no limits, unthinkable.”
