The second motorcyclist in the St-Cergue accident has died

The second motorcyclist involved in the accident in St-Cergue last Saturday died on Monday at the HUG in Geneva. The accident which occurred on Saturday shortly after 12:00 p.m. on the road between Trélex and St-Cergue therefore caused two deaths.

As a reminder, during an overtaking maneuver, a motorcyclist collided head-on with another motorcyclist who was coming in the opposite direction. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services, the motorcyclist hit, a 46-year-old man living in the region, died on the spot. The other motorcyclist, aged 45 and also living in the region, was seriously injured. Helicoptered to the HUG, he died on Monday, announced the Vaud police.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a criminal investigation. The investigations are entrusted to the traffic unit of the Vaud gendarmerie in order to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the accident, specifies a press release.
