On April 13, Louane, 19, had an electric cart accident at her workplace in the Alpes-Maritimes. The young woman and her parents want the court to take action for inexcusable misconduct.

“I saw a lot of blood.” At only 19 years old, Louane has just had her right foot partially amputated after an electric cart accident at her workplace, the Pure Montagne Resort hotel complex in Saint-Martin-Vésubie (Alpes-Maritimes).

The accident dates back to April 13, when she boarded a hotel cart to collect boxes. She is driven by a colleague, but the trip does not go as planned.

“He took the turn a little hard, telling me: ‘Be careful, I’m taking the turn in Tokyo drift mode’. He took the turn, I held on and we rolled over to the right,” recalls the young woman.

“I feel a little abandoned”

Her colleague then lifts the car so she can remove her foot. “I saw lots of blood and my toes were completely crushed,” she remembers. Two weeks later, the young woman regrets that the company has not heard from her.

“I had half of my foot amputated, I have a fracture in my left ankle, a fracture in my elbow, I had lots of bodily injuries… I still feel a little abandoned,” explains -she.

Louane and her parents want the judicial court to be seized for inexcusable misconduct and plan to file a complaint.

Contacted by BFM Nice Côte d’Azur, the president of Pure Montagne Resort evokes a duty of restraint but assures that the director of the establishment communicates regularly with her.

“It’s complicated for his professional future”

For Louane and her loved ones, we must now think about the next steps. “The rehabilitation, the reconstruction of the foot, we are going to put devices on him, it will be very, very long. It is complicated for his professional future, private etc. Everything is compromised,” breathes Alexandre Malod, father of the victim.

As for the employee who caused the accident, he was not laid off and still works in the establishment. The hotel management justifies itself on this subject: “it is not possible to rule him out. He does not have any sick leave, because he was not injured. He has therefore resumed his activity We rely on the gendarmerie’s analysis, we cannot assume fault alone.”

Contacted by telephone, the employee in question seemed to be surprised that this affair had received media coverage. However, he assures that he feels concerned and regrets his action.
