In the governorate of Kef, the prices of sheep for the sacrifice festival will increase by more than 30% this year, compared to 2023, said the president of the Regional Union of Agriculture, Mounir Laabidi.

“Several poor families in the region are worried because they may not be able to buy a sacrificial sheep this year,” he lamented.

Laabidi told TAP that the number of sheep intended for sacrifice has declined in the region, reaching 56,000 sheep this year compared to an average of 80,000 sheep in recent years.

“The decline in livestock numbers is due in particular to drought and the high cost of fodder,” he added.

According to the same Source, the price of sheep for Aid Al-Idha should go up to 1,700 dinars this year.
