The requests of the parents of young Matisse who was fatally stabbed by a teenager on Saturday April 27, 2024 in Châteauroux will not have been heard. “They do not want us to talk about the origin of the attacker, they do not want the subject of immigration to be exposed because, and these are their words, it is not something that resembles them”indicated the mayor of Châteauroux, Gil Avérous.
Christophe Marchais, the father, had expressly refused any political recovery of the extreme right, “because it really wasn’t Matou.”
“Don’t go to the emergency room, strangers will laugh in your face”
But that did not dissuade Alexandre Avril, boss of LR in Loir-et-Cher, regional councilor and mayor of Salbris, from stepping into the breach. “Matisse is one more victim of the massive immigration which is ravaging our country and being exported to our countryside”, he writes on his Facebook page.
He goes further by questioning “on the number of additional migrants that Salbris welcomes since the new migrant distribution policy. We have no idea. » Before asserting: “Immigration kills, every day and now everywhere. »
These comments immediately sparked strong reactions. Particularly from regional advisor Gaëtane Touchain-Maltête. “I will not let the din of silence settleshe replied on Facebook. The unspeakable loss of a child and the emotion it creates should not justify certain writings. This is a criminal act, an act which will come before the courts of French justice. The man’s quality as a foreigner is dangerously used by Mr. Avril. As a regional advisor in this department of Loir-et-Cher, which only a few years ago was a land of moderation, listening and work, I cannot not react. »
Gaëtane Touchain-Maltête takes the opportunity to emphasize that “the foreigner is the one we are happy to find in our hospitals […], which businesses are happy to find and one which helps our farmers feed us. » And to conclude : “So Mr. Avril, don’t go to the emergency room at night, never become a business manager or even don’t go offering your help to farmers. Because all these strangers will laugh in your face. »
The regional councilor is joined by MP Mathilde Desjonquères who also expresses her anger. “Using the death of a young man to send a dubious message about migrants, some people really stop at nothing and happily cross the red lines of the Republican parties. »
