An accident on an XXL ride at the St-Alpinien de Castelsarrasin

More fear than harm Friday April 26 in Castelsarrasin (Tarn-et-Garonne). During the traditional Saint-Alpinien funfair, an accident occurred in the evening on an XXL thrill ride reserved for adults and teenagers. According to our information, the tooth of a toothed wheel of the ride broke causing a sudden collapse of the device and a strong jolt for the ten people who were on board. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

The device reported to the prefecture

The ride was immediately stopped by its owner. About ten people were evacuated. According to the police, the person in charge of the XXL ride presented proper and up-to-date papers. The device had recently undergone technical inspections. As required by procedure, a report was made to the Tarn-et-Garonne prefecture in order to monitor this ride which will now have to undergo repairs.

On April 20, a woman in her thirties died during a funfair in Blois. In the evening, she had fallen from an attraction. An investigation is still underway to understand the reasons for this tragedy.
