The Center which gives its name to the candidacy is not a center perceived as the “intersection” between the right and the left but one which “puts the citizen and the territory at the center”. The list comes from the merger of two candidates whose heads of list preferred to step aside to gather behind Gilles Mentré.
The candidate will benefit throughout the campaign from the support of the senator of Tarn, Philippe Foliot (Centrist Alliance and spokesperson for rurality) as well as the mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine, Jean-Christophe Fromentin (Territoire on the move). The latter explains that “our territories are the forgotten ones in the debate, stuck between the localists, the sovereignists and the Euro-smug people”.
