A violent house fire broke out this Sunday, April 28, 2024, in Lanrivoaré (Finistère), at 19, route de Ploudalmézeau. The gendarmerie was called at 3:45 p.m. to intervene and as late as 6 p.m., firefighters were still on site.
The flames apparently started from the thatched roof of this house, where an elderly couple and their dog live. A chimney fire is believed to be the cause of the fire, described as ” spectacular “. The house is completely destroyed.
The occupants unhurt
The two occupants, a 79-year-old man and his 80-year-old wife, were unhurt. They were relocated by the town hall.
Firefighters from Brest, Saint-Renan and Ploudalmézeau intervened, twenty-three firefighters and six engines in total.
