On the main theme: “Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) in sectors of activity with high risk potential: challenges and intervention strategies”.

Koudou Josiane, president of the association of occupational health nurses of Côte d’Ivoire, explained that particular emphasis was placed on the national health insurance fund (Cnam), because the health budget being heavy for a company, it was important to know what the contribution of the Cnam could be at the company level to be able to help company bosses to reduce health costs.

“As for the first conference, we chose professional risks in the construction sector. As we see, there are buildings collapsing, colleagues working in difficult conditions. It was important to be enlightened on these facts. These two themes are related to our professions,” she explained.

Before emphasizing that the recommendations resulting from the treatment of these two themes will be addressed to nurses who will be responsible for disseminating them in their various companies.

Dr N’Déh Benjamin from the health insurance fund, speaker, spoke about the issue of benefits for nurses in private companies. Particularly the use of universal health coverage in these private companies.

“How can the Cmu support these private sector workers? We must educate them on how to make good use of universal health coverage in these companies to benefit from many benefits, especially to reduce the health budget of these companies,” he said.

Molé Bian Donatien, director of studies of materials and architecture at the Ministry of Constriction, Housing and Town Planning, in turn, invited all project owners to call on all professionals in the built environment to assist them in their construction. This helps ensure the safety of their construction and the people working on the site.

Construction safety implies the stability of the work, the monitoring of construction according to standards, and the safety of those involved, the workers,” he underlined. For safety, he indicated that it is necessary to have a safety coordinator who manages all the activities that take place on the site.
