This Friday evening, shortly after 6 p.m., a serious accident occurred in Parcoul-Chenaud, near Charente and Chalais. A car and a heavy goods vehicle collided, causing a violent impact.
The driver of the car, a 22-year-old man, was trapped in the vehicle after the accident. Firefighters from the municipalities of Montpon Ménestérol, La Roche-Chalais and Saint-Aigulin intervened quickly on the scene to extricate him.
Vital prognosis committed
Following the accident, the driver of the car was transported in absolute emergency to the University Hospital Center (CHU) in Bordeaux by helicopter. According to information from Sud Ouest, his condition was considered critical, with a life-threatening prognosis. He suffered in particular from fractures in his pelvis, testifying to the violence of the impact.
Truck driver uninjured
However, the driver of the heavy goods vehicle involved in the accident escaped the collision unscathed. Fortunately, he did not suffer any injuries during the collision.
