According to Marion Maréchal, this technique amounts to transforming children into “consumer goods”. “I will never accept that we trivialize the fact of renting a woman’s belly for a pregnancy. I am not a product to be rented. My uterus is not a product for rent”, she insisted. The Zemmourist candidate also denounces the “surrogate mother contracts, in a number of foreign countries” where there would be “two-year guarantees” for the child. Before finally characterizing this practice of“huge human trafficking business which represents 14 billion euros in 2022”.
