The Minister Delegate in charge Children, Youth and Families announced this Saturday, April 27 on BFMTV, that she wanted the debate on the issue of surrogacy to take place in . in order to put an end to “hypocrisy”.

Sarah El Haïry was outraged by Marion Maréchal’s comments regarding the two children born by surrogacy to fashion designer Simon Porte-Jacquemus. Asked about this on the BFMTV set this Saturday, April 27, the Minister Delegate in charge of Children, Youth and Families also declared that she wanted “the preparation of our country to one day have” a debate on surrogacy (GPA) “can be done”.

“I’m ashamed!”, first repeated the minister who was questioned about the words written by Marion Maréchal, regretting the “homophobic” remarks of the head of the list of the Reconquest party for the European elections.

Thursday April 25, the candidate of Eric Zemmour’s party attacked the twins of the famous French stylist Simon Porte Jacquemus, in a message published on the social network.

“A call to violence, nothing else”

Minister Sarah El Haïry denounced “the violence” of such remarks made according to her “for electoral purposes”, which endanger children and deny “in reality entire families which are, for some of them, made up of two dads “.

“I am the minister of all families and I would be at their side. Families in the plural. (…) Of all families, without exception: whether single-parent or blended. Large or with only one child.”

“It’s shameful because by doing this she endangers the children,” lamented the minister again on the set. “These children are in our classes, they are loved, supported. This violence that she is trying to use for electoral purposes risks taking her to the schoolyard. It is a call for violence, nothing else… and that’s serious, even more so when you’re a political leader.”

“We must protect these children and their rights”

“There are GPAs in the world today,” continued Sarah El Haïry on BFMTV, before calling for “an end to hypocrisy” on this subject. “What is certain is that yes, we must protect these children and their rights.”

“We know that this is a subject that is difficult to address because it is exploited by extremes. I simply hope that our country can be prepared to one day have this debate. It is healthy and it “These children are fine, they have parents who love them and we must protect them and I will be at their side,” she said.

In July 2023, the Minister Delegate in charge of Transport Clément marked his opposition to Emmanuel Macron by positioning himself in favor of surrogacy. A project that he felt he would not see opened during this five-year term.
