Olemps. A successful first for World Parkinson’s Day

Olemps. A successful first for World Parkinson’s Day
Descriptive text here

There were around a hundred people attending, morning at 777, the conference by Doctor Rioboo de Larriva on the non-motor symptoms of the disease as part of the first World Parkinson’s Day in the department.

A very attentive and concerned audience bringing together patients, caregivers and professionals, who asked the neurologist many questions. The latter responded to everyone, including those that were off-topic, and clearly exceeded the time allocated to him!

In the afternoon, after Bruno Privat’s meal trays shared by the volunteers, there were still numerous visitors to discover the information stands of the Parkinson association but also those devoted to dietetics or healthy sports. A very interesting exhibition made it possible to discover the symptoms of the disease. It was also possible to contribute to the large, very colorful participatory fresco on the vision that patients have of Parkinson’s in 10 years.

The sports workshops – including ping-pong which allowed you to exchange balls with two players from the Olemps club – were a reminder that it is essential to do physical activities to slow down the effects of the disease.

This day aroused a lot of interest among patients and those accompanying them, aware of the fact that they can find help and advice from the France Parkinson Aveyron association so as not to be left alone in the face of the disease.
