Kendji Girac, injured by gunfire on Monday in Biscarrosse, wanted to “simulate suicide” to scare his partner who threatened to leave him after an argument, the Mont-de-Marsan prosecutor said this Thursday.
The singer accepts his action, but regrets it.

It all started from an argument and tensions between Kendji Girac and his partner. Confronted with investigators and expert opinions, the singer returned to his initial version: it was not an accident. “He intentionally inserted the magazine and he intentionally shot himself.”revealed this Thursday Olivier Jamson, the public prosecutor of Mont-de-Marsan.

Kendji Girac’s day last Sunday began in Arcachon with his partner and their daughter. They go to the boat show. There, they have lunch with a couple of friends. A very alcoholic meal, according to his partner. The singer reportedly drank a dozen drinks. She therefore insists that they return together to the camp where their caravan is located. The couple arrived there around 5:30 p.m. A dinner follows. Then, at 9:15 p.m., Kendji Girac leaves for the Biscarrosse casino with around fifteen people.
No incidents have been reported there. They left the establishment around 11:20 p.m. minutes later, the singer arrived at the camp, continued his evening with friends and took cocaine. Around 3 a.m., according to his partner, he entered the caravan and woke up their daughter. The couple then argue. His partner threatens him to leave before finally going to bed with their child. That’s when she heard a gunshot coming from the living room. At 5:24 a.m., the SAMU was notified.
So what happened inside the trailer? According to Kendji Girac, he grabbed the weapon, aimed it at his chest, then fired. His goal, according to him, was to scare his partner. “I wanted to make Soraya hear the sound of the trigger. I wanted her to tell me to stop and not to leave. He said: ‘I did something which is not me, which is not in my habits'”, specifies the prosecutor.

The investigation will continue to confirm the circumstances of the scene. Kendji Girac is now out of danger. Despite his gunshot wound to the chest, no vital organs were affected.
