If it shares some obvious similarities with “Bonjour RATP”, the new Île-de- Mobilités application offers some exclusives… starting with the “ 2024 Journey”.

She could be the best ally of fans coming from all over the world to attend the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. But also of Paris residents. Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) has officially launched “Transport Public Paris 2024” its application dedicated to travel during the eponymous event. The application is available on the App Store and Google Play,

Once on the application’s home page, it’s hard not to make a quick comparison with its big sister: “Hello RATP”. On the home page, you will find, at the bottom of the screen, five tabs for quick navigation: “Directions”; “Schedules” ; “Traffic information”; “Purchase” and “My space”.

A map (powered by Apple Maps or Google Maps) indicates – based on your geolocation – all the nearby bus, tram, metro and RER stops. Points of sale, Olympic sites, major train stations, ride-hailing and bicycle parking lots are also available to users. According to IDFM, the authority responsible for transport plans for the Olympic Games, this is the only application to list all the sites and points of interest linked to the Paris 2024 Games.

A “Paris 2024 Journey”

What differentiates this application from others is its “Paris 2024 Journey” option. A functionality which guarantees “good real-time distribution of spectators between transport lines in order to limit crowd phenomena and waiting times”.

The latter will be materialized by a small pink insert of the same name (see screen printout above). But make no mistake, it won’t necessarily be the quickest route… But the one where you will meet the fewest people. The application’s algorithm tends to avoid too large a flow of travelers on certain lines. It could therefore be that it redirects you on an alternative (longer) route. Don’t worry though, you will always be in control of your decisions.

Available in six languages (French, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and German), the application will offer, during the month of June, the possibility for its users to purchase the Paris 2024 pass (usable only from July 20 to September 8, 2024 for the tidy sum of 16 euros per day).

Traffic information, the latest news and maps of all lines, the eight departments of the Île-de-France region as well as those of Paris 2024 are available for download, directly from the application.
