Cristiano Ronaldo will not take part in an Asian Champions League match between Iraqi club Al-Shorta and Al-Nassr on Monday due to a viral infection.
Cristiano Ronaldo will not travel to Iraq. This Monday (6 p.m.), Al-Nassr has an Asian Champions League match on the Al-Shorta pitch. But the Saudi club, second in its championship last season, made official this Sunday evening the withdrawal of “CR7” due to a virus.
A viral infection
“Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo was not feeling well today (Sunday) and was diagnosed with a viral infection,” a statement from Al-Nassr said. “The team doctor confirmed that he needs rest and to stay put. Therefore, he will not travel with the team to Iraq today. We wish our captain a speedy recovery.”
During the international break, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 900th professional goal against Croatia in a Nations League fixture. The Portuguese veteran also celebrated his 901st goal celebration three days later on Sunday 8 September against Scotland.
With Al-Nassr at the start of the season, Cristiano Ronaldo has already scored four goals and provided two assists in five games played. The 39-year-old player is on a season with 44 goals in 45 games, enough to allow him to continue chasing records.
